CYCLEBRATION MOUNTAIN BIKE STAGE RACE -
Welcome to an exciting and fun event! You are not required to participate in both events. However, you must compete in both to be eligible for overall class winner. Best combined score from both disciplines will determine overall class winners. (Note: No Time Trial for Jr. Beginners, XC race only).

Classes will include age divisions for male and female: First time ever racers, Junior Beginners, Beginner, Sport, Expert, Clydesdale (200lb+), Tandem and Single Speed Expert, Sport and Women. See full classification breakdown below.

Stage 1 - Folsom MTB Time Trial - Friday September 11, 2008

It's you solo against the clock on this fast five mile course of mostly hard-packed crushed granite through the fun and beautiful oak woodlands overlooking Lake Natoma. There are fast and open legs mixed with tight, twisty turns. Be prepared for possible dismounts and/or route options on this winding, wide to narrow single track. The course starts at Nimbus Flat and finishes on a short uphill climb with a sprint the last 100 yards on pavement into the historic district of Folsom.

Start order, see below. Your individual start time is determined by your registration order within your class. Start times will be posted on-line prior to race day. First start 4:00pm. Race day registrations will start after all pre-registered races.

NOTE: No Time Trial for Jr. Beginners - XC race only

Friday, September 11 - 4:00-7:30pm

Start Location: Nimbus Flat Recreation Area on Lake Natoma (Next to the CSUS Aquatic Center at Hwy 50 and Hazel).

Stage 2 - Folsom MTB Race - Saturday September 12, 2008

Racers will find the course fun and fast with twisty single and dual track through the oak woodlands near Granite Bay at Folsom Lake. The race course is approximately 6.8 miles with 750 feet of climbing per lap. (Jr. Beginners have shortened course). The course also includes a few technical granite slab areas, some sandy sections and a short amount of pavement to complete the loop. The course is great for all riding abilities; the faster you ride, the more challenging (and fun!) the course will be.

Saturday, September 12 – 9:00am-3:00pm

Granite Bay / Folsom Lake

First start 9:00 am. Class starts will be in waves. Check back on-line for your particular class/age group start time one week before the event.

Friday, September 11 - 4:00-7:30pm
Nimbus Flat to Historic District

Nimbus Flat is located on Hazel Ave, near Highway 50. From Highway 50, go North on Hazel Ave and make your first right turn. From the American River bridge crossing on Hazel, go past the CSUS Aquatic center entrance and make your next left.  The re is a $7 vehicle charge or annual passes for $135.  Annual passes are good for all California State Park locations.
